The Village is governed by the Lawrason act, which governs Louisiana municipalities that do not have a charter. North Hodge is a proud member of the Louisiana Municipal Association. The Village of North Hodge held their regularly scheduled monthly meeting , Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 5:00 PM at the town hall. Mayor Causey called the meeting to order. Mayor Causey led in prayer. Attendance: Mayor Geraldine Causey; Council members: Sarah Fitzpatrick and David Womack; Clerk: Ann Hill. Mr. Hall was absent. Three visitors. Mr. Womack made the motion to accept the minutes for June 1, 2010 and June15, 2010. Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded. Two voted in favor. One absent. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: NONE. OLD BUSINESS: Mrs. Fitzpatrick.made the motion to adopt the amended budget as presented. Mr. Womack made the second. Two voted in favor. One absent. Motion carried. April 6, 2010

The Village of North Hodge held their regularly scheduled monthly meeting, Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 5:00 pm at the town hall. Mayor Causey called the meeting to order and led in prayer. Attendance: Mayor Causey; Council members: Travis Hall and David Womack; Clerk: Ann Hill; three visitors. Mrs. Fitzpatrick was absent. Mr. Womack made the motion to accept the minutes from the March 2, March 12, and the March 26, 2010 meetings. Mr. Hall made the second. All voted in favor. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Mr.Conville asked why the police department didn’t apply for the grant money for Law Enforcement offered through the Police Jury. Mayor Causey commented that she was concerned why North Hodge’s Police Chief has put 1091 miles on the police car in 13 days. Mr. Womack asked about the status of the existing grant. Mr. Green explained to the board and the mayor about the work to be done at the wells, which will eliminate the water standing. This is part of the grant that we received. Mayor Causey talked about the campaigning that is going on. She said everyone should be concerned about the community as a whole, not patting people on the back for a vote. OLD BUSINESS: None. NEW BUSINESS: Mr. Hall made the motion to pay the current bills. Mr. Womack made the second. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Attendance: Council Members: Sarah Fitzpatrick, David Womack and Travis Hall; Clerk: Ann Hill. Mayor Causey was absent. Mayor Pro Temp Sarah Fitzpatrick called the meeting to order. Council member David Womack led in prayer. Mr. Hall made the motion, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded to approve the questionnaire that the CPA office has to send in with the audit.. All voted in favor. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the water situation in North Hodge. Mayor Causey mentioned that something has to be done. Mr. Hall made the motion, Mr. Womack seconded to hire Mr. Green to correct this problem. All voted in favor. Motion carried. March 2, 2010

The Village of North Hodge held their regularly scheduled monthly meeting, Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 5:00 pm at the town hall. Mayor Causey called the meeting to order and led in prayer. Attendance: Mayor Causey; Council members: Sarah Fitzpatrick, Travis Hall and David Womack; Clerk: Ann Hill; several visitors. Mrs. Fitzpatrick made the motion to accept the minutes of the February 2, 2010 meeting. Mr. Hall made the second. Two voted in favor; One abstained. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Mayor Causey spoke about the following: her broken foot; thanking everyone for the prayers offered up for her; things brought to her house when she was ill; the need of a police officer to be issuing citations; She said we cannot continue paying wages and other bills without the help of the police dept. Council member Hall spoke about the following: airing dirty linen in the paper and in the letters to the editor; to many “I’s” being used,reminded that full council is needed to get things accomplished; spoke of Mr. Womack’s web page; the need of a police officer to write tickets and patrol the town for the people’s safety; discussed the town’s need for money. Council member Womack spoke about the following: Thanked Mr. Green for everything he has done to help the town, the money he has saved us, repairs to the tractor, work on the water wells; spoke about his web page; explained what he meant by some of the phrases used; explained his opinion pages; suggested “we” quit campaigning and worry about the town for now. Mayor Causey spoke up and said she should be saying that. She felt the first she saw about campaigning was on his web page. Council member Fitzpatrick and Mayor Causey said they are not campaigning. Mr. Womack said he had this web page for years. Mrs. Fitzpatrick added that he had a home page with very little on it. Then jumped up and put all this stuff on it. Which has been on there now for months. Mrs. Fitzpatrick handed Mr. Womack several stacks of paper. She said this is what I have to show you. You can have copies made, but I want the original back. That is to do with “I recommend, I recommend”. I am not going to fight about it. Mr. Womack said that saying I recommend doesn’t mean I am the first one to recommend. Mr. Hall suggested the meeting go on. Comments from the audience: Sewer on 5th Street; asked why we don’t have a police officer. OLD BUSINESS: Balance of grant to be used to purchase chlorine pump and chlorinator at pond, if enough money is left. NEW BUSINESS: Mrs. Fitzpatrick made the motion to pay the current bills. Mr. Womack seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Grant for a generator: need to get with engineer; find someone that installs. No further business to discuss, Mayor Causey adjourned the meeting.

February 2, 2010

The Village of North Hodge held their regularly scheduled monthly meeting, Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 5:00 pm at the town hall. Mayor Pro-Temp Sarah Fitzpatrick called the meeting to order. Mr. Hall was asked to open with prayer. ATTENDANCE:Mayor Pro-Temp Sarah Fitzpatrick; Council members: Travis Hall and David Womack;Clerk: Ann Hill; Several visitors. Mayor Geraldine Causey was absent. Mayor Pro-Temp Fitzpatrick asked for the minutes of last month’s meeting to be read. Mr. Hall made the motion to accept as read. Mr. Womack made the second. All voted in favor. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Mr. Sean Disotell with Entergy was invited to our meeting to discuss the street lights billing. Council member Womack made the following personal comments: disappointed he didn’t make last month’s meeting; felt mayor should have waited until he was at meeting to change mayor pro-temp; felt needed someone with experience to be mayor pro-temp because of the mayor’s health issues; doesn’t think it is good idea to limit the amount of gas the police department can purchase and suggested the town hall meeting should begin at 6:00 pm so more people would be able to attend. There was a discussion concerning a house that the sewer has backed up into. There were pictures made available. Mr. Hall made the motion to contact our insurance company. Mr. Womack seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Mr. Hall made the motion to have Mr. Green furnish and install a starter on one of our wells. Mr. Womack seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried. OLD BUSINESS: discussion concerning the progress of plugging the abandoned well, rental of equipment to clean ditches, and the reasons for not continuing with the House Rehabilitation Grant. NEW BUSINESS: Mr. Hall made the motion to pay the current bills. Mr. Womack seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried. There being no further business to discuss, Mr. Hall made the motion to adjourn. Mayor Pro-Temp Fitzpatrick adjourned the meeting.

December 29, 2009

The Village of North Hodge held a special called meeting, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 3:00 pm at the town hall. Mayor Causey called the meeting to order. Mayor Causey opened with prayer. Attendance: Mayor Causey; Council Members: Sarah Fitzpatrick and Travis Hall; Clerk: Ann Hill. Mr. Womack was absent; Three visitors. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss Ordinance #200. This ordinance is to regulate the operation of electronic video bingo machines in North Hodge, Louisiana.Mr. Clowers and Mr. Maxwell were in attendance to discuss the operation of the electronic video bingo business. Mr. Hall made the motion, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded to delete part B of Section 1 and to change Section 11 to read that the Village of NorthHodge will be paid 1.5% of the Coin-in per month in the form of a tax effectivethroughout the term of the license. After one year of operation, this will be discussed again. There being no further business to discuss, Mr. Hall made the motion to adjourn. All voted in favor.

Mr. Hall made the motion to accept theminutes from October 6, 2009 and October 21, 2009 meetings. Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried. There were comments from the floorconcerning a sewer problem on Line Avenue. Mayor and Board discussed how torepair. Added to the agenda under new business: #2 James Osmond, #3 tree overtrailer on 4th Street, #4 litter and #5 police department. OLD BUSINESS: There was discussion concerning the rental of equipmentto clean ditches. Mr. Hall will check with someone he knows to get a price. MayorCausey gave an update on the tractor repairs. The water deposit ordinance was read aloud. Mayor Causey gave an update on the manhole on 5th Street. There wasdiscussion on what to do about the culvert on 2nd Street. It was decided to cut theend of culvert off where it is bent down. Mayor talked about the ditch by the bankbuilding on Hwy 167. NEW BUSINESS: Mrs. Fitzpatrick made the motion topay the current bills. Mr. Hall seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried.There was a discussion to mail a letter to Mr. Osmond, who owns property on 4th Street to clean up his lot. The Board and Mayor discussed a tree leaning toward a trailer on 4th Street that needs to be cut down. The owner of the tree andthe owner of the trailer will have to discuss that problem. The town is not responsible.Mrs. Fitzpatrick brought up that litter is a problem. Mayor said she would getthe maintenance working on it. Mayor brought up the police department. She saidthe police officer is not allowed to work but 12 hours per week and he is limited on how many tickets he can write. She has a concern about this. The Village of North Hodge held their regularly scheduled monthly meeting, Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 5:00 pm. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Causey. Mrs. Fitzpatrick led in prayer. Attendance: Mayor Causey; Council members: David Womack and Sarah Fitzpatrick; Clerk: Ann Hill; Council member Travis Hall was absent. Several visitors. Mrs. Fitzpatrick made the motion to accept the minutes from September 1, 2009 (regular monthly meeting) and September 23, 2009 (special called meeting). Mr. Womack seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: There was discussion from the audience about the amount of our water deposit. Mayor Causey said she will consider reducing the amount of the deposit. OLD BUSINESS: Mayor Causey is talking to Granger Equipment about rental of equipment for cleaning out ditches. Tractor estimates were discussed. This was tabled until next month. Dustin Jordan is cutting the right-a-ways and the wastewater pond for $300.00 monthly. Added to the agenda under new business #6 – hole in ditch by old bank bldg. NEW BUSINESS: Mrs. Fitzpatrick made the motion to pay current bills. Mr. Womack seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried. The outdated ordinances are to be discussed at the special called meeting on October 21, 2009 at 10:00 am. The manhole on 5th Street, we are waiting on the LCDGB grant. The culvert on 2nd Street, on one end needs to be bent upward so water can flow properly. We will contact DOTD about how they might can help us with the hole in the ditch by the bank bldg. September 1, 2009

The Village of North Hodge held their regularly scheduled monthly meeting, Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 5:00 pm. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro-Temp David Womack. Mr. Hall led in prayer. The minutes from the August 4, 2009 meeting was read aloud by Mr. Womack. Mr. Hall made the motion to accept the minutes as read; Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Attendance: Mayor Pro-Temp David Womack; Council Members: Sarah Fitzpatrick and Travis Hall; Clerk: Carolyn Robinson; Clerk Ann Hill came in at 6:00 pm. several visitors.

PUBLIC COMMENTS: There was discussion concerning the sewer problem on 5th Street. Mr. Womack commented that the town was applying for a grant to upgrade the sewer system. There was discussion concerning the cutting off of water for non-payment of bill. There was a discussion concerning a ditch that needs to be cleaned out. There was discussion concerning a volley ball net that is located close to the lift station on 3rd Street.

OLD BUSINESS: Mr. Hall made the motion, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded, to accept the budget for the up coming year, October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2010. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Mr. Womack made the motion, Mr. Hall seconded to check with AT&T concerning DSL internet services. All voted in favor. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS: Mr. Hall made the motion to accept the current bills to be paid, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried. There was a discussion concerning the dog ordinance, all ordinances need to be enforced. Some of the ordinances seem to be outdated. Mr. Womack would like some of the ordinances re-worked and updated.Mr. Womack made the motion, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded, to renew the physical damage and equipment coverage on the police car for another year. All voted in favor. Motion carried. The L-Gap grant was discussed. They will make a decision on this at a special called meeting later in the month. Mrs. Fitzpatrick made the motion, Mr. Hall seconded to get other estimates on the repairing of the tractor. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Mr. Hall made the motion, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded to send a resolution to Governor Jindal in support of the letter that the Town of Jean Lafitte mailed to him concerning the shrimp industry in Louisiana. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Mrs. Fitzpatrick added to the agenda under new business: #9 – water cut-off ordinance, #10 – contract to cut right-a-ways and #11 – Henry Kemp culvert. Mr. Hall made the motion, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded to put a notice on the door of past due water accounts the day before cut-off. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Discussed the water problem Mr. Kemp has in his yard – would like for the town to divert the water. Mr. Womack has looked at this already. Mr. Hall will go and look at this and talk with Mr. Kemp. Mrs. Fitzpatrick made the motion, Mr. Hall seconded to hire Doug Woods to cut the right-a-ways at a cost of $300.00, cutting only once a month. If it is cut twice a month, $500.00. All voted in favor. Motion carried. This excludes the wastewater pond area. There being no further business to discuss, Mr. Hall made the motion to adjourn, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded. Attendance: Mayor Causey; Council Members: David Womack, Sarah Fitzpatrick and Travis Hall; Clerk: Ann Hill; several visitors. Mr. Womack made the motion to accept the minutes from the July 7, 2009 meeting, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: There were comments from the visitors concerning the ordinance on dog kennels and dogs in general in North Hodge. OLD BUSINESS: Mr. Womack made the motion to drop the ordinance on Recreational Vehicle Facility. Mr. Hall seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Mr. Womack made the motion to purchase speed bumps for the streets when money is available. Mr. Hall seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried. There was a discussion concerning the LCDBG grant. Mr. Womack made the motion to apply for: Existing Sewer Collection Rehab and Housing Rehabilitation. Mrs. Fitzpatrick made the second. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

July 7, 2009

The Village of North Hodge held their regularly scheduled monthly meeting, Tuesday, July 7, 2009. The meeting began at 4:30 pm. Mayor Causey called the meeting to order. Mr. Hall led in prayer. Attendance: Mayor Causey; Council members: David Womack and Travis Hall. Clerk: Ann Hill; no visitors. Mr. Womack made the motion to accept the minutes of June 2, 2009 as written. Mr. Hall seconded. Both voted in favor. Motion carried. The purpose of the meeting beginning at 4:30 pm was a public hearing to discuss the LCDBG grant. Representative from Gary Fontana's office was not able to attend. Mr. Hall made the motion, Mr. Womack seconded that a Citizen Participation Plan/Citizen Complaint Procedure be adopted and Ann Hill be appointed as Citizen Complaint Officer for compliance with the LCDBG program. Both voted in favor. Motion carried. Mrs. Fitzpatrick entered the meeting at this time. The Board and Mayor discussed the different opportunities available under this grant. They did not decide on which ones they would like to ask for funding on. At this time, Mayor Causey adjourned this meeting.
Mayor Causey called the regular monthly meeting to order. Mr. Womack led in prayer. At this time, we had five (5) visitors. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Mr. Woods asked about the opening of the bingo hall. Mrs. Murphy came to discuss the grease problem that the town has at a manhole.
OLD BUSINESS: Mr. Disotell with Entergy was here to finalize the franchise renewal. Mr. Hall made the motion to accept the franchise, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Mrs. Fitzpatrick made the motion to raise the percentage from 2% to 3%, Mr. Hall seconded. Two voted in favor, One voted nay. Motion carried. Ordinance 44C - was re-written concerning the pit bulldogs, rottweiller, etc. Mr. Womack read the ordinance section by section. There was discussion. Mr. Hall made the motion to accept the ordinance as read. There was no second. This ordinance died. Ordinance 205 is on hold. Mr. Womack made the motion, Mr. Hall seconded to adopt the amended budget for October 1, 2008 - September 30, 2009. All voted in favor. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS: Mr. Hall made the motion to pay the current bills, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried. There was a discussion about the lots that are mowed or needs to be mowed. Question was asked if anyone was billed. There was discussion concerning the property at the end of West 4th Street. Added to agenda under new business #4 - speed bumps. The Board and Mayor discussed installing speed bumps on the residential streets. Mrs. Fitzpatrick will do the survey. Prices will be received. The Village of North Hodge held their regularly scheduled monthly meeting, Tuesday June 2, 2009 at 5:00 pm at the town hall. Mayor Causey called the meeting to order. Mayor Causey led in prayer. Mr. Hall seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Representatives from LMA were in attendance. They commented about the town and stated that they were glad to be at our meeting. OLD BUSINESS: Mr. Hall made the motion, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded to raise the percentage with the Entergy Franchise Renewal to 3%. Two yeas and One nay. Motion carried. Mr. Hall made the motion, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded for the town to bear the expense of installing the sewer line on Cedar Street to reach Mr. Womack’s property. Mr. Womack will be responsible to pay the tap-in charge. Mr. Womack also mentioned that he wanted to furnish the pipe for this. Two yeas. Mr. Womack excluded himself from voting since this is his property being considered. Motion carried. There being no further business to discuss, Mr. Hall made the motion to adjourn. April 3, 2009

The Village of North Hodge held a special called meeting on Friday, April 3, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the town hall. Mayor Causey called the meeting to order and led in prayer. Attendance: Mayor Causey; Council Members: David Womack, Sarah Fitzpatrick and Travis Hall; Clerk: Ann Hill; Two visitors. Mr. Womack made the motion, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded to make this meeting our regular scheduled monthly meeting. All voted in favor. Motion carried. The minutes of March 3, 2009 were read aloud. Mr. Womack made the motion, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded to accept these minutes as read. All voted in favor. Motion carried. The minutes of March 17, 2009 were read aloud. Mrs. Fitzpatrick made the motion, Mr. Hall seconded to accept these minutes as read. All voted in favor. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: None OLD BUSINESS: Entergy Franchise Renewal was discussed by the Mayor and Council. It has been tabled until next month. The Community Water Enrichment Fund Grant was discussed. We need to contact our engineer to be brought up to date. Mr. Womack discussed the purchase of a weedeater with attachments that can be used to cut small limbs, etc. He brought pictures to show the weedeater that L P Saw recommends. This was tabled until next month. There was a discussion concerning the mileage rate that IRS allows for business purposes. Mr. Womack made the motion, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded to accept the amended ordinance #197A which allows 55 cents per mile for business purposes. Mr. Hall stated that he is against paying mileage. Two votes: Yea and One vote: Nay. Motion carried. Ordinance #204, which makes it unlawful to maintain a dog kennel for non-domestic or commercial purposes goes into effect on April 3, 2009. NEW BUSINESS: Mr. Hall made the motion, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded to pay the current bills. Mr. Hall made the motion, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded to accept the amended Ordinance #109B. The amended ordinance was read section by section. This ordinance makes it the responsibility of landowners to maintain the lines up to the point where said lines tie in to the North Hodge Water and Sewer System in such a manner so that water and other infiltration cannot go into said system. In the event of violation of this Ordinance, the landowner shall be responsible to pay a fine of $50.00 per day for each day that said lines are in violation of this ordinance. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Mr. Hall made the motion, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded to accept the amended Ordinance #44C. The amended ordinance was read section by section. This ordinance makes it unlawful for anyone within the city limits of North Hodge to keep on their premises, indoors or outdoors, a pit bulldog, pit bulldogs, rottweiler dog and or rottweiler dogs. Anyone found in violation, shall be fined $150.00 plus Mayor’s Court Cost or, in default thereof, serve fifteen (15) days at the parish jail. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Mrs. Fitzpatrick made the motion, Mr. Womack seconded to adopt Resolution #09-003, the renaming of the Board of Aldermen. The Board will from this day forward and in the future will be addressed as Council Members. All voted in favor. Motion carried. The Board and Mayor discussed the maintenance department keeping a log of their daily mileage on the truck. It was brought up that the clerk’s office should have a book listing all of the ordinances by number and a brief description of each ordinance. Mrs. Fitzpatrick made the motion, Mr. Womack seconded to purchase two(2) back-up batteries for the police dept. radios and one (1) battery for the radio in the clerk’s office. All voted in favor. Motion carried. It was mentioned to the Mayor that there are boards with nails in them, on the bridge on Line Avenue that need to be moved. This could be a liability for the town.At this time, the Mayor and Board went into Executive Session. The meeting resume after the Mayor and Board came from the Executive Session. They discussed raises for the Mayor, Council Members and Chief of Police. There were no decisions made from this discussion. There was a discussion concerning sick days and vacation days. Mrs. Fitzpatrick made the motion, Mr. Womack seconded, to give ten (10) sick days and four (4) vacation days, after the first year of employment. Sick days can not be carried forward. There being no further business to discuss, Mr. Hall made the motion, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded to adjourn.

OLD BUSINESS: Cell phone with prepaidminutes was dismissed. The Mayor Pro-Temp and Board asked Doug Woodsif he would look at the radio in clerk’s office to see what it needs, to be repaired.An inventory of the items in shed not being used will be taken. Mrs. Fitzpatricksuggested that Ricky Green be included when inventory is taken so hewill be able to advise us on what parts, etc. to keep. Items not used or needed will beput up for sealed bids.
Item #2 added under new business: Complaint report fromPolice Dept. Mr. Hall made the motion, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded to pay thecurrent bills. All voted in favor. Motion carried. There was a discussion concerningthe complaint the Police Dept received about where the maintenance is dumpingand burning limbs, etc. The report states that they are using private property. Theowner would like this cleaned up. Mayor Pro-Temp Womack will discuss this situation with the maintenance department. There being no further business to discuss,Mr. Hall made the motion to adjourn, Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded. All voted in favor.

The Board of Aldermen and Mayor Pro-Temp called a specialmeeting on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 4:00 pm at thetown hall. Mayor Pro-Temp David Womack called themeeting to order and welcomed each person for attending.Mr. Hall led in prayer. Attendance: Mayor Pro-Temp DavidWomack; Aldermen: Travis Hall and Sarah Fitzpatrick;Clerk: Ann Hill; Police Chief Moffett and Assistant Chief JerryWalden; Certified Operator Ricky Green; Several visitors. MayorPro-Temp Womack discussed the policies for the maintenance departmentto adhere to while he is in charge for the next few days. He alsodiscussed the letter of violations that the town has received concerningthe wells and the old water tank that is not in operation. Each violationwas discussed and Mr. Green advised which ones he could correct.The Board and Mayor Pro-Temp discussed the grants that were notapplied for this year and what could be done to help the Mayor in thefuture concerning this. Doug Woods asked about the bridge onLine Avenue. There being no further comments. The meeting wasAdjourned.

PUBLIC COMMENTS: Doug Woods commented about the cell phonewith prepaid minutes that is on the agenda under new business.Mr. Joe Sampite’, who promotes LMA and Risk Mgmt, along with his assistant wasin attendance. He spoke for a few minutes. He alsohanded out literature promoting Natchitoches before the meeting began.
OLD BUSINESS; NONE NEW BUSINESS: Mr. Hall made the motion to pay the currentbills. Mrs. Fitzpatrick seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried. There was a discussion concerning Ordinance #179. It was determined by theboard, that the town could not prohibit trucks, of any kind, from travelingon the residential streets. There is no reason to re-write this ordinance.The item concerning cell phone with prepaid minutes was tabled until next month.The clerk will bring back to the board prices for this. Mrs. Fitzpatrick madethe motion, Mr. Hall seconded to add two items under new business. All voted in favor.Motion carried. Item 4: tree by Deal and Discounts. Item 5: Equipment in maintenance building.Mrs. Fitzpatrick wanted to know if the land owner was billed for the maintenanceguys cutting up the tree that had fallen on the property beside Deals and Discount. Mrs. Fitzpatrick would like to take sealed bids on items, in the maintenancebuilding, that are not being used. There being no further business to discuss, Mr. Hall made the motion to adjourn. Brad Graff with Cothren, Graff, and SmoakEngineering came and explained to the Mayor and Board what willneed to be done to get the sewer in place so the owner of the propertyat 5482 Quitman Highway will be able to hook on to the sewer. Mr. Hallmade the motion, Mr. Womack seconded for Mr. Graff to draw upthe plans needed for the town to do their part. All voted in favor.Motion carried. Mr. Woods asked when the bridge on Line Avenuewould be repaired. Chief Moffett asked about the loose dogs in town.Mayor Causey explained why the grant from the Office of CommunityDevelopment was not pursued. Mr. Hall made the motion to pay the currentbills. Mr. Womack seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Mr. Hallmade the motion to change the November meeting to Thursday, November 6,2008 at 5:00 pm. Mr. Womack seconded. All voted in favor.
